Product description
Avalanche safety matters enormously at KLIM, and the need for a durable, snowmobile-specific avalanche backpack led to the industry-leading Alpride E2 Airbag System. The 16-litre Aspect pack is built around this multi-use electronic airbag system, which is smaller and lighter than the previous E1, produces a larger airbag and adds a long list of other advancements. An airbag helps keep you near the surface of a moving avalanche, which reduces the risk of burial.
The electronic system removes the usual hassles. A supercapacitor powers the radial compressor and is not affected by cold temperatures, so performance does not drop on a deep-winter morning. You can recharge it via USB-C in 20 minutes or with 2x AA batteries in 40 minutes, and because there is no canister and no lithium-ion battery, there are no flight restrictions. That also means practising deployment is easy and costs nothing. Auto-test and LED indicators plus an LCD screen show supercapacitor and AA battery levels before you leave the truck.
As a backpack, the Aspect 16 is built for heavy powersports use: robust materials, a moulded back panel that holds its shape and an ergonomic NAC Pak inspired chest harness with breathable pads. Colour-coded zippers get you into the avy gear compartment fast, with external shovel blade storage and internal handle and probe storage with a drain. A radio pocket with internal mic routing, a moulded goggle pocket with removable chamois, a moisture-resistant tool pack and a 360° waist webbing with metal buckle and leg strap round out a pack designed around how mountain riders actually work.
