The BCA Dozer 1T-UL is our ultralight avalanche shovel, built for those who want to move fast and light in the backcountry. The blade is cored out to minimize weight without sacrificing strength, while retaining BCA’s proven low-profile stompable blade, lightweight cored-out handle, and innovative ovo-concave shaft.

The ovo-concave shaft is the first of its kind, engineered to prevent breakage under prying forces and to provide better grip—even with gloves on. Inspired by the legendary D-2 EXT “Dozer” shovel, the oval shaft design has been enhanced with concave radiuses on both sides for extra strength without adding weight. Similar to a high-end lacrosse stick, this design ensures a secure hold and reduces slippage during use. All BCA extendable shovels meet the UIAA standard for avalanche rescue shovels.
