Flare Jacket

In pursuit of better winter safety, KLIM engineered the women’s Flare Jacket to offer floatation assistance, protection and comfort in the extreme conditions trail riders face. This is a redesign of the first women’s float-assist GORE-TEX jacket in the world, and it does not need to be paired with floatation bibs to work properly.

The Ascent Float System™ is a flexible, breathable closed cell foam integrated into specially mapped channels, so you get floatation benefits without giving up mobility or comfort. The foam does not absorb water and it adds meaningful insulation on top of the standard fill: 60 g of extra warmth on top of the 200 g 3M™ Thinsulate™ Elite High Loft water resistant insulation in the body, for 260 g total. On a frozen lake, that is real peace of mind.

The rest of the jacket is a comprehensive trail package. A 2-layer GORE-TEX® Performance Shell is fully seam sealed and guaranteed to keep you dry, a triple front flap placket blocks wind at the zipper, and mesh hem and sleeve cuffs let water drain out instead of staying in. Full pit vents with storm flaps handle the warm days, and there is a whistle on the centre front zipper, a powder skirt, adjustable collar, cuffs with thumb hole gaiters and an adjustable bottom hem. Please note the jacket is not certified as a PFD by the U.S. Coast Guard.
