Tracker S Avalanche Beacon

The BCA Tracker S is an avalanche beacon for snowmobilers, freeriders and ski tourers who want a device they don't have to think about when time is short. It is the smallest and lightest beacon in the BCA range, yet the display and the way it works are the same as on the larger Tracker 3+ and Tracker 4.

It has three antennas and an LED display that updates in real time as you move. You read distance and direction straight off the screen, with no menus to scroll through during a search. When you get close to the buried person, the close proximity indicator helps with the fine search before the probe comes out. If there is more than one signal in range, the beacon tells you.

The Tracker S runs on three AAA alkaline batteries, and the display is built to handle the cold. It reverts to transmit mode automatically, but it does not have the motion sensing of the Tracker 3+ and Tracker 4. The software cannot be updated and there is no electronics self-test. If you can live without those, the Tracker S does the actual job the same way.

• Maximum range 50 m and search strip width 55 m
• Close proximity indicator and multiple burial indicator

MULTIPLE BURIAL SEARCH

• Big Picture: shows at once how many signals are in range
• Signal Suppression: suppresses a located signal so the search for the next one can begin

SAFETY

• A beacon does not prevent avalanches. It gives your group a chance to find a buried partner fast, and that only works with practice.
• Check every beacon in the group before each ride.
• Always carry a probe and a shovel as well.

WHY CHOOSE THE TRACKER S?

• Easy to use even under stress, when thinking gets hard
• Small and light, so it gets worn on every trip instead of staying at home
• Same display and search method as BCA's more expensive models
