TS Avalanche Rescue Package

The BCA Tracker S Avalanche Rescue Package contains the three tools everyone heading into avalanche terrain needs to carry: an avalanche beacon, a probe and a shovel. BCA designed it as a first avalanche safety kit and as an upgrade for anyone whose old gear is due for replacement.

The core of the package is the Tracker S, the simplest beacon to use in the BCA range. It has three antennas and a real-time LED display that shows direction and distance without scrolling through menus during a search. It operates on the international 457 kHz frequency, so it can find and be found by any beacon on the same frequency, regardless of brand.

The probe and shovel take care of the rest of the search. The Stealth 270 probe assembles with a single pull using the Quick-Lock system, with no loose cable to snag. The extendable shaft and T-grip of the Dozer 1T shovel give you leverage for digging through hard avalanche debris, and taken apart the shovel fits inside a backpack.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is included in the BCA Tracker S package? A Tracker S avalanche beacon with harness, a Stealth 270 probe and a Dozer 1T shovel.

Does the Tracker S work with other brands of beacons? Yes. The Tracker S uses 457 kHz, the international standard frequency for avalanche beacons.

What is the difference between the Tracker S and the Tracker 4? On the Tracker S, auto revert to transmit works without motion sensing, and the software cannot be updated. If you want those features, see the Tracker 4 Avalanche Rescue Package.

Is the package enough on its own? No. The gear only helps when every member of the group carries their own and practises using it regularly. An avalanche safety course is the best investment to go with this package.
